Mission Statement

Morning Star School is a Catholic Diocesan school which challenges students with learning disabilities and other related difficulties to succeed at their optimal level while creating readiness for growth and service in the larger global community.

Morning Star School is an environment where each student's uniqueness is valued. The student's self-esteem is enhanced in a nurturing, supportive setting which provides opportunities for students to grow spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.

Belief Statements:

  1. Each student is a unique child of God.
  2. Student learning is a priority in this school.
  3. Students learn in a variety of ways.
  4. Each student is recognized and valued as a unique child of God in his/her social, emotional, and academic needs.
  5. Meeting student learning styles and special needs is primary in the development of programs, curriculum, and instruction.
  6. A healthy learning environment is everyone's responsibility. The opportunity for success is an important component of student learning. A safe and comfortable learning environment promotes learning and success.
  7. Pastors, principals, teachers, parent advisory organizations, and members of the parish share responsibility for the mission of the school.
  8. Mutual respect among and between the students and staff creates a wholesome learning environment.
