 Parent Education Programs

A variety of parental education programs are offered. These programs include:

  • The Parents Club sponsors various speakers at quarterly meetings to discuss topics that address the needs of Morning Star families. Topics have included nutrition for children, internet safety, sleep disorders, ADHD, handwriting and occupational therapy, and protecting children from illegal drugs.
     
  • A resource collection of books and videotapes/DVDs by authors discussing topics ranging from explanation of learning disabilities to modifying behavior in children with learning disabilities is available to parents.
     
  • Participation in school events such as field trips, picnics, fund-raising events, Catholic Schools Week celebration, Morning Star Sundays, teacher appreciation week, graduation, clean-up days and Thanksgiving feast and Christmas activities.
