  • What Ages and Grades Does Morning Star Serve?

    Morning Star Catholic School serves students beginning in Kindergarten. For the 2026–2027 school year, Morning Star will serve students through 9th grade.

    As part of our continued growth, 10th grade will be added in the 2027–2028 school year, with plans to expand our program through 12th grade in the coming years.

    Students entering Kindergarten must be five years old on or before September 1 of the school year for which they are applying.

    What Ages and Grades Does Morning Star Serve?

    Morning Star Catholic School serves students in Kindergarten through 9th grade for the 2026–2027 school year. We will add 10th grade in 2027–2028 and plan to continue expanding through 12th grade. Students entering Kindergarten must be five years old on or before September 1.

  • No. Morning Star welcomes students and families of all faith backgrounds. As a Catholic school, faith is integrated throughout the school day, and all students participate in religion classes, prayer, and school liturgies.

  • Our admissions process includes:

    • Submit an inquiry and schedule a tour

    • Complete the online application and submit required documents

    • Parent interview and student screening

    • Admissions decision

    • Enrollment

  • PHYSICALS and  IMMUNIZATION CERTIFICATES are required upon initial enrollment in the school.  An updated IMMUNIZATION CERTIFICATE is required again prior to entering Junior High (specifically public school grade 7). Religious Exemptions for immunizations are not accepted by the Diocese of St. Petersburg only medical exemptions are allowed.

  • Morning Star Catholic School serves students with a variety of learning differences and exceptionalities who benefit from individualized instruction, small class sizes, and a supportive learning environment.

    Students at Morning Star may have needs related to dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, speech and language disorders, ADHD, executive functioning, processing disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and other specific learning disabilities.

    Because every child is unique, admissions decisions are based on a review of each student's individual needs and our ability to provide the support necessary for success.

  • Yes. While Morning Star serves students with a wide range of learning differences and exceptionalities, we are not currently equipped to serve students who are medically fragile, non-verbal, or who exhibit severe behavioral challenges that significantly disrupt the learning environment. Admissions decisions are made on an individual basis after reviewing each student's unique needs and our ability to provide appropriate support.

  • No. While many students have educational evaluations, diagnoses, or learning plans, an IEP is not required for admission. Families are encouraged to share any evaluations, testing, or educational records that help us better understand their child's needs.

  • Yes. Many Morning Star families utilize scholarship and tuition assistance programs to help make a Morning Star education affordable.

  • Morning Star accepts several scholarship programs, including:

    • Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA)

    • Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options (FES-EO)

  • Yes! At Morning Star, we believe choosing the right school is an important decision for both families and the school. A personalized tour gives parents the opportunity to learn about our programs, meet our staff, see our classrooms, and ask questions. It also helps us begin to understand your child's unique needs and determine whether Morning Star may be a good fit. All prospective families are required to complete a tour before submitting an application.
